Aerris Newton

Aerris Newton (she/her) moved to Memphis in 2018 and fell in love with the South. She got her political start by volunteering in local and Statewide Electoral races where being the “organizee” quickly turned into being the organizer. Currently, Aerris is the Campaigns and Special Projects Organizer/Affiliate Data Manager with Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and North Mississippi and Tennessee Advocates for Planned Parenthood where she is fighting for Reproductive Rights in a state where abortion is completely banned with no exceptions. She also currently sits on the Board of Votes for ALL, a Memphis based 501 c3 focused on harnessing grassroots energy for democratic participation as well as sitting on the National Executive Committee of Liberation Road. When not doing the important work of dismantling capitalism, you can find her on the dance floor dancing Salsa and Bachat or on the couch with her 2 dogs and cat. 

Aerris was a speaker at the 2023 Socialism Conference.
