Pronouns – She/Her

Awo Okaikor Aryee-Price, Ed.D is an organizer and former classroom teacher of 14+ years, teacher-leader, educational justice organizer, a mother of two children, partner, and currently the Executive Director of the Education for Liberation Network; a national coalition of teachers, community activists, researchers, youth and parents who believe a good education should teach people—particularly low-income youth and youth of color—how to understand and challenge the injustices their communities face. Her organizing orientation is rooted in an intersectional, anti-racist, de/colonial Black feminist lens and framework. She can be found organizing within national and state educational justice organizing spaces and communities.

Okaikor is committed to collectively undoing and unlearning the racist, colonial, patriarchal, and other oppressive systems and structures (AKA – Capitalism) that hinder us all from being able to access our full human-selves. She is a core trainer with the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond, co-founder of the organization MapSO Freedom School, and is a founding steering committee member for the National Black Lives Matter in School, a network of educators and organizers committed to centering Black students, educators, and communities, while advocating for the creation of anti-racist learning environments for all students.
